CAD Designer

Colsan Microelectronics specialises in Headset Design for the communications industry, they currently have a requirement for a CAD Designer to utilize their skills in PCB and Mechanical design and join a multi functional team in introducing a number of products to their established clients, experience using Solid Works, CorelDraw or CAD

Summary of Post:
-PCB layout, schematic entry and BOM creation
-Mechanical enclosure 2D/3D CAD design tasks
-Work closely with project team members to ensure the timely and successful delivery of projects
-Keep updated with latest developments in technology

Duties:
-2D and 3D Mechanical Design
-Schematic and BOM creation, modification and maintenance
-PCB layout, modification and maintenance
-Define appropriate materials and component selection and help sourcing
-Participate in team design reviews as appropriate
-Be able to operate workshop tools for prototype builds
-Disseminate technical information & inputs from customers as appropriate
-Project task coordination and planning to ensure assigned tasks are completed in time
-Provide timely status reports on projects to Technical Manager
-Support existing products and designs
-Meeting customers on and off site as required
-Assisting with manufacturability and usage issues
-Facilitate the sourcing of components
-Adhere to all prevalent company design rules (h/w & s/w) and QA guidelines
-Liaise with Product Line Managers in exploiting opportunities to determine specifications, introduce new products and support customers as required

Position/Skill Requirements:
-Experience with suitable CAD tools such as CorelDraw, and Solidworks.
-Experience in PCB layout design is essential.
-A background in Headset design is desirable, but not essential.
-Able to work to very tight timelines and interact well with engineers and customers to determine specs.
-Preferably an HND/equivalent or above in an engineering discipline
